DHAKA, Sept 11, 2026 (BSS)-Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has sent textbooks to Ramimul Islam Rifad, younger son of Mofizul Islam Rashed, a former joint organizing secretary of the Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) who was a victim of enforced disappearance.

Member Secretary of 'Amra BNP Poribar' Agriculturist Moksedul Momin Mithun handed over the books necessary for Rifad's studies to his elder brother Rimon, said a press release issued here today.

Mofizul Islam Rashed was a victim of enforced disappearance on April 4, 2013. Since then, his younger son Rifad has grown up amid uncertainty, waiting for his father.

While pursuing justice for her husband's enforced disappearance, Rifad's mother Ruma Begum died in a road accident in Mohammadpur in November 2021.

Following his mother's death, the family's homestead land in Hemayetpur, Savar, also reportedly came under the possession of his uncle.

Having lost both his parents, Rifad is now living with his aunt in Chandpur. He is studying at Balithuba Abdul Hamid High School and is appearing in the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examination this year.

Rifad, a child of a family affected by enforced disappearance, needed some textbooks and test papers for his SSC examination.

After Rifad's elder brother Rimon brought the matter to the attention of the chief patron of 'Amra BNP Poribar', Prime Minister Tarique Rahman directed his Additional Press Secretary Atikur Rahman Ruman to take necessary measures to provide the study materials.

The initiative to provide Rifad with the necessary textbooks was taken to support his education and help him continue his studies.
