DHAKA, Sept 5, 2026 (BSS)- A two-day special appreciation programme featuring the rhythms and diverse musical patters created by National Poet Kazi Nazrul Islam will be held at Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy on September 9 and 10, with the participation of around 200 percussionists.

The event titled “Nazruler Chhandataranga (Nazrul’s Rhythmic Waves)” will be organised at rehearsal rooms 104 and 105 of the Music and Dance Centre building under the initiative of the Ministry of Cultural Affairs, said a press release here today.

The programme will run from 10am to 2pm and from 3pm to 7pm on both days.

According to Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy officials, the two-day artistic journey will focus on the rhythmic language and structure and percussion techniques created by Nazrul Islam, alongside collective practice and an appreciation of the artistic expressions of percussion.

The programme is likely to recreate the vibrant creative pulse of Nazrul through the collective resonance of hundreds of musical instruments—echoing a rhythm, a pulse and the enduring resonance of a nation’s awakening.
