DHAKA, Sept 4, 2026 (BSS) - One more child died from suspected measles across the country in the last 24 hours bringing the total number of deaths from suspected measles to 888 children since March 15.

Since March 15, the number of deaths from confirmed measles and measles-like symptoms has reached 987, said a daily report of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

A total of 1,114 suspected measles cases were reported in the last 24 hours, while the total number of suspected cases since March 15 stood at 162,262.

In the last 24 hours, 40 confirmed measles cases were reported. Since March 15, the total number of confirmed measles cases has reached 19,567.

From March 15, a total of 142,453 suspected measles patients were admitted to hospitals. Of them, 137,350 patients recovered and were discharged from hospitals.

No one died from confirmed measles in the last 24 hours. However, 99 people have died from confirmed measles since March 15.
