NARSINGDI, Aug. 28, 2026 (BSS)- Health and Family Welfare Minister  Sardar Md. Sakhawat Husain Bakul has said BNP has no place for corrupts, terrorists, land grabbers, extortionists or criminals.

He urged the party leaders and workers to stand beside the people and engage in politics with honesty, transparency, discipline and responsibility.

The minister said this at an exchange-of-views meeting with leaders and activists of the BNP and its associate bodies of Monohardi and Belabo upazilas today.

The minister said it was not always possible for him to remain in the area due to his government responsibilities and various organisational activities. However, his efforts for the development of the area and the welfare of the people are continuing.

He said sufficient allocation was made for development of health sector in the area. Several more development projects would become visible within the next six months.

He further said that he had recently been given additional responsibility for coordinating development activities and overseeing organisational affairs in Munshiganj and Manikganj districts, which had increased both his government and organisational responsibilities.

He warned party leaders and activists about allegations of land grabbing and other irregularities. 

He urged them to shut politics of using personal influence to get things done or trying to keep good relation with all.

“Party leaders and activists must be accountable to the people. They should not remain confined to holding positions. Earning the trust of the people should be their main responsibility,” he said.

At the meeting, instructions were given to observe the BNP’s founding anniversary on September 1 in a befitting manner.

Emphasising transparency in Family Card distribution the minister said that the cards should not be distributed on the basis of party identity or personal recommendations. Instead, it should be given to only those genuinely eligible for the benefits, he said asking the local leaders to properly verify and scrutinise the beneficiaries.

He urged the party leaders and workers to maintain cordial behaviour with all in order to preserve a democratic environment and democratic politics. 

The minister calls for monitoring distribution of fertiliser supply among farmers urged local leaders to remain vigilant over the allegations that some dealers were stockpiling fertiliser.

He said initiatives had been taken to appoint new fertiliser dealers in every union, while provisions would also be made for the appointment of sub-dealers.

He stressed the need to ensure qualifications and transparency in the appointment of fertiliser dealers.
