DHAKA, Aug 27, 2026 (BSS) - Bangladesh Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD), Dhaka University unit, today paid rich tributes to National Poet Kazi Nazrul Islam by placing a wreath at his grave beside the university central mosque, marking his 50th death anniversary.

JCD leaders and activists, led by BNP Acting Secretary General and Prime Minister's Political Adviser Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, laid the wreath at the poet's grave in the morning.

DU unit JCD President Ganesh Chandra Roy and General Secretary Nahiduzzaman Shipon, along with leaders of different hall units, were present on the occasion.

Speaking after laying the wreath, Ganesh Chandra Roy said, "On the 50th death anniversary of National Poet Kazi Nazrul Islam, we remember him with deep respect. Holding the ideals of Nazrul's equality, humanity, harmony and patriotism, our best tribute to him would be the resolve to build a beautiful, humane and discrimination-free society."
