Fakhrul expresses condolence over the death of Shayrul Kabir’s sister

DHAKA, Aug 19, 2026 (BSS) - Sheuli Khanam, the only younger sister of BNP media cell member Shayrul Kabir Khan, died at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of Mymensingh Medical College Hospital (MMCH) here today. 

She was 57.

She breathed her last at around 11 am while undergoing treatment at the MMCH.

Sheuli Khanam had been admitted to the hospital on August 15 after a massive brain stroke. She is survived by her husband, children, parents, brother, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, grandchildren and a large number of relatives and well-wishers.

Shayrul Kabir Khan has asked everyone to pray for the eternal peace of his sister's departed soul.

Meanwhile, BNP Presidential candidate and former Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of Sheuli Khanam.

In a condolence message issued today, Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said the deceased was respected by her neighbours as a benevolent and religious woman.

“I, too, am deeply grieved and saddened by the death of Sheuli Khanam, like her neighbours, family members and relatives. I pray to the Almighty Allah to grant the deceased Sheuli Khanam a place in Jannatul Ferdous,” he said.

Mirza Fakhrul prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed his profound sympathy to the bereaved family, relatives and well-wishers.
