DHAKA, August 18, 2026 (BSS) – Senior journalist Maruf Kamal Khan’s book Rajnitir Sodore-Ondore published by Suchipotro Prokashoni was launched at Jatiya Press Club here today.

Prime Minister’s Political Adviser and BNP Standing Committee member Nazrul Islam Khan delivered the keynote speech as the chief guest at the publication ceremony while Information and Broadcasting Minister Zahir Uddin Swapon and Cultural Affairs Minister Nitai Roy Chowdhury spoke as the special guests.

Prime Minister’s Press Secretary AAM Saleh Shibly, Principal Information Officer Syed Abdal Ahmed, Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists (BFUJ) Secretary General Kader Gani Chowdhury and Dainik Jugantor Editor Abdul Hye Shikder also spoke.

Speaking on the occasion, the information minister said the book is not merely an enjoyable piece of literature or a memoir rather it will be regarded as an important document worth preserving for political activists, social workers, and conscious citizens.

“While general readers will find light enjoyment by discovering history through the book, deep and inquisitive readers will also gain knowledge from it. The winding and complex path of political culture, the relationship between politics and power, and the transformation of the diverse instincts of human beings have been portrayed in the book in a remarkably fluent manner,” he narrated.

Referring to the author as a close friend of him many years, Swapon said, “Just as human nature is portrayed through characters in an epic such as the Mahabharata, the author has brought delicate as well as contradictory aspects of human nature to the forefront in this book”.

Recalling Khan’s tenure as Deputy Press Secretary to former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia, the minister said during that period, their office room had been a reliable place for informal gatherings and conversations. Drawing from his reservoir of memories, the author has arranged this history-based book around one after another of the real events that took place both at the forefront and behind the scenes of politics.”

In his speech, the author, Maruf Kamal Khan, editor of Dainik Protidiner Bangladesh, presented the background and circumstances surrounding the writing of the book to the readers.
