RAJSHAHI, Aug 18, 2026 (BSS) - The Alauddin Talukdar Scholarship award ceremony for students of the Department of Information Science and Library Management was held today at Rajshahi University (RU).

On the occasion, a programme organized by the department was attended by Special Guest and Pro-Vice Chancellor (Administration) Professor Md. Abdul Alim, who handed over the scholarships to the students.

The programme was presided over by Chairman of the department Professor Md. Nazmul Islam, while Professor Khalid Alam delivered the welcome speech.

At the programme, Convener of the Alauddin Talukdar Educational Scholarship Committee Professor Md. Shariful Islam presented a biography of late Alauddin Talukdar.

Among others, Student Adviser Professor A H M Khurshid Alam, teachers, students and other relevant persons of the department were present.

At the ceremony, eight students who secured first position in the first- to fourth-year B.A. (Honours) examinations in 2023 and 2024 were awarded merit scholarships, while 16 students from the first year to the Master's level received educational assistance scholarships.
