MYMENSINGH, Aug 17, 2026 (BSS) - State Minister for the Ministry of Disaster 
Management and Relief M. Iqbal Hossain inspected Mymensingh Medical College 
(MMEC) Hospital for the first time after being elected chairman of the 
hospital's management committee.
 
During his inspection, he asked the hospital authorities to ensure hassle 
free services to the patients.

He was accompanied by Abu Wahab Akand Wahid, MP, vice-chairman of the 
hospital management committee and lawmaker from the Sadar constituency.

During a brief discussion, MMCH Director Brigadier General Md Zakir Hossain 
apprised the chairman and vice-chairman of the hospital management committee 
of the overall activities of the hospital, as well as various problems and 
challenges it faces.

After the meeting, Iqbal also local lawmaker visited BNP Media Cell member 
Shyrul Kabir Khan's younger sister Shiuli Khanam who is undergoing treatment 
on life support at the hospital's ICU. They stood beside the patient's bed, 
inquired about her condition and spoke with her family members.
