RAJSHAHI, Aug 17, 2026 (BSS)- Professor Dr Kao Yamada of Gunma University, Japan, paid a courtesy call on Professor Dr. S M Abdur Razzak, Vice-Chancellor of Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology (RUET).
 
At the beginning of the meeting at the Vice-Chancellor's office this afternoon, Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. S M Abdur Razzak presented an honorary crest to Professor Dr. Kao Yamada of Gunma University.
 
During this time, they discussed various aspects of mutual cooperation and further strengthening bilateral relations between Gunma University and RUET.
 
During the meeting, the RUET Vice-Chancellor highlighted various existing and potential areas of cooperation between RUET and Japanese universities. 

In particular, he emphasized increasing cooperation in joint research, undertaking joint projects, teacher and researcher exchange, student exchange, organizing joint seminars and conferences, and modern technology and innovation-based research.
 
The Vice-Chancellor said Japan is one of the most advanced countries in the world in the field of technology, innovation and research. 

Mutual cooperation with Japanese universities is extremely important for the development of engineering and technology education in Bangladesh. 

RUET is interested in building more effective and long-term academic and research partnerships with higher education institutions in Japan in the future.
 
Japanese Professor Dr. Kao Yamada praised RUET's education and research activities and expressed interest in expanding opportunities for mutual cooperation between the two institutions in the future. 

He emphasized further strengthening the relationship between the universities of the two countries through joint research, academic exchange, and technology and knowledge exchange.
 
It was hoped that this meeting and exchange of views will open new doors of possibility for educational, research, innovation and technological cooperation between RUET and higher education institutions in Japan.
 
Also present at the time were RUET Pro-Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Md. Akhtar Hossain, Dean of the Faculty of Civil Engineering Professor Dr. Md. Kamruzzaman, Dean of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering Professor Dr. Md. Nurul Islam, Director of IQAC Professor Dr. Md. Imdadul Haque and Professor Dr. Md. Anwarul Kabir Bhuiya of the Department of Biomedical Engineering at RUET.
