DHAKA, Aug 17, 2026 (BSS) - Seven more children died with symptoms of measles across the country in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of deaths from measles-related diseases to 915.

According to a press release issued by the Health Emergency Operations Centre and Control Room of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), no one died from confirmed measles in the past 24 hours, but seven children died from suspected measles. With this, 99 children have died from confirmed measles and 816 from suspected measles since March 15.

In the past 24 hours, 50 new confirmed measles cases were detected. At the same time, 981 new suspected measles cases were identified.

According to DGHS data, a total of 143,778 suspected measles cases have been reported since March 15. During the same period, 17,930 confirmed measles cases have been detected.
