DHAKA, Aug 15, 2026, (BSS) - Eight more children died of measles and measles-like symptoms across the country in the past 24 hours, according to a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) today.

According to the release, the total number of deaths from measles and measles-like symptoms in the country this year has risen to 902. Of them, 99 died of confirmed measles and 803 died with measles-like symptoms.

According to DGHS data, 728 suspected measles cases were reported in the past 24 hours, while the number of suspected measles cases from March 15 to August 15 stood at 141,776.

The number of confirmed measles cases in the past 24 hours was 70, while the total number of confirmed cases since March 15 has reached 17,800.
