DHAKA, Aug 13, 2026 (BSS) - Director of Russian House in Bangladesh Alexandra Khlevnoy today assured cooperation with the National University (NU) in developing higher education, research and skills-based education.
She made the assurance during a courtesy meeting with National University Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr ASM Amanullah at the university’s city office in Dhanmondi here today.
The meeting discussed in detail new areas of mutual cooperation between the National University and Russian House, including skills-based education, research activities and future technical cooperation.
Highlighting the importance of international cooperation in Bangladesh’s higher education system, National University Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Amanullah said effective partnerships with universities and educational institutions at the international level could create new opportunities for students and teachers.
He said Russia could particularly cooperate with Bangladesh in skills-based and technical education at the higher education level.
He stressed the need to further expand mutual cooperation to improve the quality of education and research.
Dr Amanullah said the National University is taking various initiatives to provide its large number of affiliated students with opportunities for modern, skills-based and internationally recognised higher education.
Director of Russian House Alexandra Khlevnoy expressed interest in becoming involved in the National University’s educational and research activities.
She stressed the need to increase mutual cooperation in higher education to further strengthen educational and cultural relations between the two countries.
The two sides expressed optimism about identifying areas of cooperation on various issues of mutual interest and taking effective initiatives in the future.
Head of the Cultural Programme Department of the Russian Embassy in Bangladesh Prashant Kumar Barman, Senior Administrative Officer Delwar Hossain, Director of the International Desk of the National University Raj Bin Kasem, Communications Expert Gautam Barua, and Coordinator of the Multi-Language Learning Institute Md Saiful Islam Shaheen were present at the meeting.
