DHAKA, Aug 8, 2026 (BSS) - Four more people died of measles and suspected measles across the country in the last 24 hours, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

During the period, 677 suspected measles cases were reported, while 99 cases were confirmed, the DGHS said today.

From March 15 to August 8, a total of 117,444 suspected measles patients were admitted to hospitals across the country. Of them, 113,200 recovered and were discharged during the period.

Two deaths from suspected measles were reported in the last 24 hours, raising the total number of deaths from suspected measles to 769 since March 15.

Meanwhile, two more deaths from confirmed measles were reported during the same period, taking the total number of deaths from confirmed measles to 98 since March 15.
