Acting Speaker joins doa, milad mahfil for July Uprising martyrs, injured

DHAKA, Aug 6, 2026 (BSS) - Acting Speaker of the Jatiya Sangsad Barrister Kayser Kamal, MP, today joined a doa and milad mahfil held at the Parliament Mosque seeking eternal peace of the departed souls of those martyred in the July Mass Uprising of 2024 and speedy recovery of the injured.

The programme, organised by the Jatiya Sangsad Secretariat after Zuhr prayers, began with the recitation from the Holy Quran.

Special prayers were offered for the forgiveness of the souls of the martyrs of the July Mass Uprising-2024 and for the swift recovery of those injured in the movement.

The congregation also prayed for the forgiveness of the souls of Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman, former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia, valiant freedom fighters and those who sacrificed their lives in different democratic movements of the country, said a press release of parliament secretariat.

Special munajat was also offered for the President, the Prime Minister, the Acting Speaker, members of the Cabinet, the Chief Whip and Whips, members of parliament, and for the peace, progress, prosperity and overall well-being of the country and its people.

Prayers were also offered for the successful functioning of the Jatiya Sangsad and for peace, unity and prosperity of the Muslim Ummah.

Senior Imam of the Jatiya Sangsad Secretariat Mosque Md Abu Raihan conducted the doa and munajat.

Among others, Whip Md Akhtaruzzaman Mia, Secretary of the Jatiya Sangsad Secretariat Barrister Md Golam Sarwar Bhuiyan, officials and employees of the Parliament Secretariat, and other distinguished guests attended the programme.
