RAJSHAHI, Aug 5, 2026 (BSS) – A discussion was held at the Rajshahi District Shilpakala Academy auditorium here this morning to mark July Mass Uprising Day 2026.

Minister for Land Mizanur Rahman Minu, MP, attended the programme as the chief guest. Paying deep tribute to the martyrs of the July Mass Uprising, he called upon everyone to work together to build a democratic Bangladesh inspired by their spirit of sacrifice.

Rajshahi City Corporation Administrator and Rajshahi Metropolitan BNP General Secretary Md. Mahfuzur Rahman Riton attended the programme as the special guest.

He emphasized the importance of presenting the history of the July Mass Uprising to the new generation and said the sacrifices of the martyrs would continue to inspire the nation.

The discussion was also attended by senior officials of various government departments in Rajshahi, political leaders, valiant July fighters, academics, cultural personalities, distinguished citizens, and representatives of different professions.

The speakers said the July Mass Uprising is an unforgettable chapter in the history of Bangladesh's democratic movement.

They expressed their determination to uphold the spirit of sacrifice and struggle of the martyrs and take the country forward on the path of development, justice and democracy.

Rajshahi Divisional Commissioner Dr A N M Bazlur Rashid, Rajshahi Deputy Commissioner Kazi Shahidul Islam, Rajshahi Metropolitan Police Commissioner Mohammad Faizul Kabir, DIG of Rajshahi Range Ashik Sayeed and Rajshahi Zila Parishad Administrator Advocate Ershad Ali Isha also spoke on the occasion.
