DHAKA, Aug 25, 2026 (BSS) - The government has released Tk 75 lakh for training and self-employment activities for freedom fighters and their children for the 2026-27 fiscal year.
The Ministry of Liberation War Affairs disclosed the decision in a letter issued on Sunday, signed by Deputy Secretary Dr Asaduzzaman.
According to the letter, the amount has been released from the grant allocation for the programme titled "Training and Self-Employment for Freedom Fighters and Their Children".
The ministry has set several conditions for the use of the funds, including updating information on the training associations (Prashikkhon Samity) on its website and ensuring proper distribution of the money among freedom fighters and their children.
It also directed the concerned authorities to use the funds for the designated purposes while strictly following all applicable financial rules and regulations. The released amount must be kept in an FDR-bearing bank account.
The ministry further instructed that a detailed report on the expenditure and progress of the activities, duly certified and explained, along with information on unspent funds and bank balances, be submitted by June 20, 2027.
The Director General of the Bangladesh Rural Development Board has been designated as the drawing and disbursing officer for the Tk 75 lakh.
He will withdraw the funds from the office of the Chief Accounts and Finance Officer of the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs at Segunbagicha in Dhaka and ensure their proper use for the designated purposes.
