Roads, institutions to be named after July martyrs in every upazila: Yasser

MYMENSING, Aug 05, 2026 (BSS)- State Minister for Information and Broadcasting Yasser Khan Choudhury today said roads and institutions will be named after the July martyrs in every upazila across Bangladesh.

“Their sacrifices made it possible for the current democratic government to be elected through a free and fair election. BNP would stand by the July martyrs and their families,” he said.

Yasser Khan said this while inauguration a free medical camp in memory of the July martyrs at Duldul Camp in the Patgudam area of Mymensingh town. 

Yasser said, the families of the July martyrs and injured persons will be provided with various facilities under different plans. These plans will be implemented under the leadership of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman.

The state minister said, after long struggle led by Tarique Rahman people of Bangladesh to establish a democratic government free from fascism. “In 2024, we achieved that success through the student-mass uprising,” he said.

He prayed for eternal peace of the departed souls and wished early recovery of the injured saying “We are always with them and will remain by their side forever.”

Administrator of Mymensingh City Corporation Rukunuzzaman Rokon, Joint Convener of Mymensingh Metropolitan BNP Professor Sheikh Amjad Ali, Mymensingh Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal former president Naimul Karim Luin and current general secretary Al Rafsan Samir, among others, were present.

At the free medical camp, more than 300 members of underprivileged and impoverished families received free medical treatment and medicines.
