DHAKA, Aug 4, 2026 (BSS) - The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has stepped up security measures across the country ahead of the observance of July Mass Uprising Day 2026 tomorrow.

The elite force has adopted a comprehensive security plan to prevent any untoward incidents during the nationwide programmes.

In a press release issued today, RAB said it had strengthened intelligence surveillance and coordinated with other law enforcement agencies, intelligence services and local administrations to ensure the peaceful commemoration of the day. 

The release added that security arrangements have been made after assessing potential risks to prevent extremist groups, banned organisations and anti-state elements from carrying out sabotage or creating disorder.

RAB said all battalions have prepared area-specific security plans, while intelligence operations have been intensified through enhanced intelligence gathering and expanded source networks. 

Security has also been reinforced at programme venues, July memorial sites and along routes designated for marches and processions.

According to the statement, plainclothes and uniformed personnel have been deployed to monitor key locations, with surveillance further strengthened around programme venues and procession routes. 

Cyber patrols have also been intensified to detect and counter rumours and misinformation on social media.

RAB said special preventive measures against sabotage have been in place since seven days before the observance, with heightened vigilance maintained across all districts.

Reaffirming its commitment to public safety, the force said it remains ready to maintain law and order, prevent crime and bring offenders to justice throughout the nationwide observance of July Mass Uprising Day.
