DHAKA, July 19, 2026 (BSS) - Prof Dr. Md. Nazmus Sadath of the Forestry and Wood Technology Discipline at Khulna University has been appointed as the new Vice-Chancellor of Gopalganj University of Science and Technology (GSTU) today, said an official handout. 

Prof Nazmus Sadath has been appointed as the Vice-Chancellor of the university under Section 10 (1) of the Gopalganj University of Science and Technology Act, 2001 (amended-2025), subject to several conditions, read the release. 

According to the conditions, his tenure in the position of Vice-Chancellor will remain in effect for the next four years from the date of his joining. However, if his retirement date falls within this period, he will remain in office until whichever occurs first.

As Vice-Chancellor, he will receive salary and allowances equivalent to his current position and will enjoy other benefits associated with the post as per rules, it added. 

The release further said that as the chief executive officer of the university, he will be required to reside permanently on the university campus. The President and Chancellor may cancel this appointment at any time if deemed necessary.
