RAJSHAHI, July 16, 2026 (BSS) - A seminar on research publication and higher education was held today at the University of Rajshahi (RU). 

The seminar titled 'Research Publications International Collaboration and Higher Studies' was held in the Faculty of Engineering Gallery. Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Administration) Professor Md. Abdul Alim and Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Education) Professor Mamunur Rashid were present as special guests at the inaugural ceremony of the seminar.
 
The keynote speaker of the seminar, chaired by IQAC Director Professor Md. Abu Reza, was Distinguished Research Professor of Sunway University, Malaysia and Head of Research of the Centre for Nanomaterials and Energy Technology, Saidur Rahman.
 
The seminar was organized by the RU Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC).
 
In the seminar, Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Administration) Professor Md. Abdul Alim said, one of the main problems of our research is the limitation of funding and laboratory facilities. 

Currently, 13/14 high-impact projects are ongoing in this university. Some new research projects will soon be seen for our young teachers as well. 

With the cooperation of your learned teachers, we want to take the University of Rajshahi further forward in research. He expressed hope that today's seminar will play an important role towards that goal.
 
There, Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Education) Professor Mamunur Rashid said, today's seminar is important for those of us who want to go abroad for higher education. 

The students of the Faculty of Engineering who are present in this seminar are already familiar with the topics discussed and presented. 

He requested the keynote speaker to also give an idea about various scholarship opportunities abroad.

He mentioned that this information will play a role in students pursuing higher education abroad.
 
Among others, Syndicate member Professor Md. Rezaul Karim, Faculty Deans, Departmental Chairmen and Institute Directors, along with teachers, researchers and students of various departments were present at the seminar.
 
IQAC Additional Director Professor Md. Monimul Haque delivered the welcome speech at the seminar and Additional Director Professor Md. Kalam Uddin conducted the seminar.
