DHAKA, July 8, 2026 (BSS) - Dhaka University (DU) Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. A. B. M. Obaidul Islam left here today for London, UK, on a four-day official visit to attend the council meeting of the Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU).

During the visit, the DU Vice-Chancellor will participate in a roundtable discussion titled "Leading Universities through Transformation: What will Higher Education Leadership Require by 2035?".

He is scheduled to deliver a lecture and share insights on the evolving role of universities, leadership challenges, shortcomings in current leadership development programs and pipelines, creating diverse and inclusive leadership pathways, and developing essential skills and attributes for future university leaders.

Prof. Obaidul Islam will also attend the ACU Council Meeting scheduled for July 9-10 in London. On the sidelines of the meeting, he is expected to hold bilateral talks on mutual interests—particularly regarding higher education, research, and scholarship programs—with ACU authorities and Vice-Chancellors from various renowned universities.

The Vice-Chancellor is expected to return home on July 12, 2026.
