DHAKA, July 7, 2026 (BSS) - Prime Minister's Adviser for Public Administration Md Ismail Zabihullah today held a meeting with a delegation from the British High Commission in Dhaka, led by Senior Governance Adviser Neil Gandhi, to discuss strengthening bilateral cooperation in governance and public administration reform.
The meeting, held at the adviser's office, focused on promoting good governance, enhancing state effectiveness and building a more accountable, data-driven and citizen-centric public administration, according to an official release.
The two sides also discussed simplifying public service delivery, developing skilled human resources, creating employment opportunities, promoting women's empowerment and accelerating the implementation of the government's priority programmes through enhanced Bangladesh-UK cooperation.
During the meeting, Ismail Zabiullah expressed gratitude for the United Kingdom's longstanding support for Bangladesh's development and sought continued British assistance in implementing citizen-centric initiatives, service simplification and public administration reforms in line with the
BNP's election manifesto.
The British delegation reaffirmed the United Kingdom's commitment to supporting Bangladesh in implementing its development priorities, strengthening effective state institutions and ensuring improved public services for citizens.
Governance Innovation Unit Director General Dr Delwar Hossain and Director Md Monirul Islam Patowary of the Prime Minister's Office were present at the meeting.
Other members of the British delegation included Associate Director for the Middle East and South Asia Daniel Bristow, Associate Director (Asia-Pacific) Josh Weizmann, Governance Adviser at the British High Commission in Dhaka Shahnaz Karim, Chief Strategy and Legal Adviser Kim McCue, Country Representative of The Asia Foundation Kazi Faisal Bin Seraj and Communications Specialist Whit Mason.
