RAJSHAHI, July 6, 2026 (BSS) - With the theme 'Developed Villages, Prosperous Country, Bangladesh First,' today a colorful rally was held in Rajshahi on the occasion of National Rural Development Day-2026.

The event was organized by the Divisional Administration, District Administration, and the Divisional and District Offices of the Bangladesh Rural Development Board (BRDB), Rajshahi.
 
Today, guests inaugurated the rally by releasing balloons and festoons at the Divisional Commissioner's Office premises. 

Land Minister Mizanur Rahman Minu, MP, was present as the chief guest. Administrator of Rajshahi City Corporation Mahfuzur Rahman Riton attended as a special guest.

The event was presided over by Rajshahi Divisional Commissioner Dr. A.N.M. Bazlur Rashid.
 
Also present as special guests at the rally were DIG of Rajshahi Range Mohammad Shahjahan and Rajshahi Metropolitan Police Commissioner Mohammad Faizul Kabir.
 
The rally paraded through the city's main roads and concluded back at the Divisional Commissioner's Office. 

A discussion meeting was held in the conference room of the Divisional Commissioner's Office to mark the day. BRDB Joint Director Bokul Chandra Roy delivered the welcome speech.
 
Officials and employees of various government offices, BRDB officials and employees, representatives of different social and voluntary organizations, and distinguished persons participated in the program.
 
At the event, speakers highlighted the importance of cooperative-based activities for rural development, employment generation, poverty alleviation, and sustainable development. 

They called for cooperation from all to implement the government's various development initiatives aimed at improving the living standards of rural people.
