DHAKA, July 5, 2026 (BSS) - A total of 271 new dengue cases were reported across the country in the 24 hours ending at 8:00 am today, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
Out of the 271 fresh cases, 63 were hospitalised in Barishal division, 30 in Chattogram division, 45 in Dhaka division, 27 in Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC), 30 in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC), seven in Mymensingh division, four in Rajshahi division, two in Sylhet division and 63 in Khulna division, a DGHS statement said.
With the latest figures, the total number of dengue cases reported in the country this year has risen to 6,871, while the mosquito-borne disease has claimed 19 lives so far.
According to official data, dengue claimed 413 lives and infected 102,861 people in 2025. In 2024, the disease caused 575 deaths and infected 101,214 people nationwide.
