NARSINGDI, July 04, 2026 (BSS)- Health and Family Welfare Minister Sardar Md. Sakhawat Hossain has said government officials and employees found to be guilty of negligence and corruption would face dismissal instead of transfer.
“Wherever negligence and corruption are found, there will be dismissal, not transfer. I do not believe in transferring corrupt officials. Everyone must work with honesty. Corruption and bribery must be stopped, and we will not tolerate such practice,” he said.
The minister was addressing the 31st Annual General Meeting of the Narsingdi Diabetic Association at the Narsingdi Shishu Academy auditorium this afternoon.
He said a 50-bed dialysis centre would be established in every medical college hospital across the country.
The minister also said community clinics at the union level would be renovated and strengthened with the recruitment of more doctors and healthcare workers.
“Family planning centres will also be upgraded. We want to initiate a revolution in the health sector this year. New programmes are being undertaken in every sector to improve public services and help the country stand tall on the world stage,” he added.
Describing the current national budget as an ideal one, Sakhawat Hossain said every programme under the budget would be implemented in a corruption-free manner.
Deputy Commissioner of Narsingdi and President of the Narsingdi Diabetic Association Israt Jahan Keya chaired the function while MP for Narsingdi-1 Khairul Kabir Khokon inaugurated it.
MPs for Narsingdi-3 Monjur Elahi and Narsingdi-5 Ashraf Uddin Bokul, and Administrator of the Narsingdi Zila Parishad Tofazzal Hossain, among others, were present.
