DHAKA, July 04, 2026 (BSS)-The government today issued six special directives for all hospitals aimed at ensuring round-the-clock cleanliness marking completion of its 180 days in office.
The authorities have also instructed all healthcare institutions to ensure biometric attendance fully operational by August 17 this year, said an official order issued by Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
The instructions were given to to strengthen hospital cleanliness and ensure regular attendance of the doctors and employees ahead of the government's 180-day milestone on August 17, said the order.
The directives said heads of the healthcare institutions will be responsible for keeping their hospitals clean and well-maintained at all the times.
Higher authorities will regularly monitor cleanliness standard at hospitals under their supervision.
The circular asked the Directors of medical college hospitals and specialized hospitals to conduct regular cleanliness drives in hospital on every Saturday.
Divisional Directors (Health) will inspect district hospitals on the dates mentioned in the attached schedule. After each of the inspection, the team will submit an elaborate report to the health ministry.
The circulation said civil surgeons will inspect Upazila Health Complexes every Saturday in accordance with the attached schedule and submit reports to the same authorities.
All healthcare institutions must ensure that biometric attendance machines are functional and regular biometric attendance is in place by August 17.
Heads of the institutions will be held responsible for any failure to comply these directives, the order said.
