172 more dengue patients hospitalized in last 24 hrs

DHAKA, June 28, 2026 (BSS) - A total of 172 more dengue patients were admitted to hospitals across the country in the past 24 hours, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

"No new deaths from the mosquito-borne disease were reported during the period," said a DGHS press release issued today.

Of the newly hospitalised patients, 33 were admitted in Barishal Division, 24 in Chattogram Division, 27 in Dhaka Division (outside city corporation areas), 24 in Dhaka North City Corporation, 23 in Dhaka South City Corporation, 31 in Khulna Division, five in Mymensingh Division and five in Rajshahi Division.

During the same period, 130 dengue patients were discharged from hospitals after recovery, bringing the total number of recoveries this year to 5,356.

Since January 1, a total of 5,800 dengue cases have been reported across the country. Of them, 62.2 percent are male and 37.8 percent female.

The death toll from dengue this year stands at 13.

According to the DGHS, Bangladesh recorded 102,861 dengue cases and 413 deaths in 2025, while 101,214 people were infected and 575 died from the disease in 2024.
