DHAKA, Aug 23, 2026 (BSS)- State Minister for Information and Broadcasting Yasser Khan Choudhury today stressed the speedy implementation of the plans adopted by the ministry and its departments.

“Our ministry needs a drastic change. There are separate plans for each department. The time has come to implement these plans quickly,” he said.

Yasser said this at an introductory meeting of the ministry officials and heads of its affiliated departments and agencies with newly appointed Information and Broadcasting Minister Andaleeve Rahman at the Bangladesh Secretariat here.

“In the past, in many times, there was a delay in implementing decisions,” the state minister said adding “In some cases, it could not be possible to move forward properly towards their implementation. From now on, we will have to move very quickly.”

Yasser said all concerned should take immediate steps to implement the programmes properly in line with the ministry's own plans and decisions.

He said infrastructure development and modernisation of important institutions of the ministry, including Bangladesh Television, Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha (BSS), Bangladesh Betar and Bangladesh Film Development Corporation (BFDC), need to be completed quickly as those organization are directly linked to deliver information to the common people.

If the capacity of the institutions can be increased, the quality, recognition and reputation of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting will further enhance, the state minister said.

He said through the activities of the ministry, it will be possible to present to the people what the incumbent government is doing more beautifully and effectively.
 
As a result, a positive perception will be created among the people about the government's activities, Yasser said.

“Whatever decisions we will take, whatever needs to be done to implement those, you will work to implement those quickly in accordance with the rules and policies,” he said.

Welcoming the newly appointed minister, Andaleeve Rahman, the state minister said Andaleeve Rahman is known to all in the context of Bangladeshi politics and the country as he is a good organizer and a dynamic person.
