DHAKA, June 19, 2026 (BSS) - State Minister for Fisheries and Livestock Sultan Salauddin Tuku today said neighboring countries are infiltrating drugs into Bangladesh through various means in an attempt to destroy the young and future generations.
“If the youth society is destroyed, it will become easier to control them (by neighboring),” he said while speaking as the chief guest at a football tournament organized in the Dainya Chowdhury West Para village of Tangail Sadar Upazila.
The State Minister said, “Everyone is aware of where drugs come from. These drugs are entering from the neighboring countries. They want our country to become weak and crippled. Therefore, everyone must be vigilant and united from their respective positions.”
He further said that drugs will not be allowed to enter Tangail Sadar under any circumstances. “We will say no to drugs and welcome sports. The next generations must be built as a drug-free youth society through sports,” said Tuku, lawmaker for Tangail-5 constituency.
Lokman Hossain, former head teacher of Baghil K.K. High School, presided over the event while Mahmudul Haque Sanu, former member secretary of the district BNP; Md.
