DHAKA, June 18, 2026 (BSS)- Liberation War Affairs Minister Ahmed Azam Khan today said the highest standard of honesty, transparency and accountability will be ensured in implementing government development activities.
The minister made the remarks while addressing a development-related meeting of the Muktijoddha Sangsad Central Command Council as the chief guest at the conference room of the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs in Dhaka today.
"All concerned must remain vigilant so that no waste, irregularities or any form of "pillow scandal" occurs in development projects," he said.
"Public money must be spent properly for the welfare of the people, and responsibility must be demonstrated in the implementation of every project," he said.
At the meeting, a policy decision was taken to construct a modern multi-storey building on the Muktijoddha Sangsad Central Command Council's own land at Eskaton.
Emphasis was placed on constructing the building in a manner suitable for the welfare of heroic freedom fighters, conducting organisational activities and preserving the history and spirit of the great Liberation War, Azam said.
The minister directed the concerned authorities to prepare an aesthetic, functional, cost-effective and contemporary design for the building.
To this end, he called upon the Department of Architecture and the Muktijoddha Sangsad Central Command Council to work in coordination.
The minister further said the government's ongoing activities to ensure the dignity and welfare of heroic freedom fighters would be made more dynamic, and such development initiatives would play an important role in preserving the spirit of the Liberation War and passing it on to future generations.
Chaired by Secretary of the ministry Ashraful Islam, the meeting was attended by members of the Muktijoddha Sangsad Central Command Council, senior officials of the ministry, representatives of the Public Works Department and representatives of the Department of Architecture.
