DHAKA, June 12, 2026 (BSS)- Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Afroza Khanom today stressed on technical and women’s education for national development, urging parents to play a proactive role in ensuring greater educational opportunities for girls.
Addressing a meeting titled “Education Excellence Support Scheme” at the Saturia Upazila Parishad Conference Hall in Manikganj as the chief guest, the minister said the government is implementing multifaceted initiatives to modernize the country’s education system and expand technical and vocational education.
She said the government, guided by the principle of Bangladesh First, is working relentlessly to ensure modern, quality and time-befitting education for all citizens.
The minister said the present government has undertaken a series of effective measures to strengthen technical and employment-oriented education.
Highlighting the significance of women’s education, Afroza Khanom said there is no alternative to educating women for the country’s overall progress and development.
She noted that parental awareness and a positive mindset can play a crucial role in advancing women’s education and empowering future generations.
The minister also said the government is committed to ensuring a safe and supportive working environment for female employees in the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism and its affiliated organizations.
During the programme, she visited innovative projects showcased by students, and exchanged views with them.
Praising their creativity, innovative thinking and research-oriented activities, the minister encouraged the students to utilize their knowledge and skill in contributing to the country’s future development.
At the end of the programme, she distributed tree saplings among the students free of cost.
Officials of the Manikganj district administration, heads of educational institutions, teachers, students and local dignitaries attended the event.
