DHAKA, June 11, 2026 (BSS) - The United States (US) has assured Bangladesh of long-term cooperation in the energy sector during a high-level meeting held in Washington, D.C.
According to a press release, both sides discussed global supply chain challenges and ways to enhance technological cooperation during the meeting.
The meeting was held on Wednesday.
Bangladesh was represented by State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Anindya Islam Amit, while the US side was led by newly appointed Under Secretary of Energy Kyle Housevitt.
The two sides held detailed discussions on energy security, infrastructure development and the exchange of modern energy technologies.
Bangladesh Ambassador to the United States Tareque Md Ariful Islam was also present at the meeting.
