DHAKA, June 11, 2026 (BSS)- Adviser to the Prime Minister and Spokesperson of the Prime Minister's Office Mahdi Amin has sought technical and institutional cooperation from France to expand third-language education in Bangladesh.
He made the proposal while the Ambassador of France to Bangladesh Jean-Marc Séré-Charlet paid a courtesy call on him at the Prime Minister's Office this afternoon, a PMO press release said.
During the meeting, both sides held detailed discussions on various matters of bilateral interests, including education, investment, trade, technology, and enhancing people-to-people contact.
The meeting specifically discussed the government's initiative to incorporate third-language education into the country's education system.
They discussed the potential of including French as one of the main options for third-language education.
Mahdi Amin sought effective cooperation from France to expand opportunities for Bangladeshi students to learn French.
The discussion also placed special emphasis on further strengthening economic and commercial relations between Bangladesh and France.
Mahdi Amin highlighted to the Ambassador various aspects of the Bangladesh government's investment and business-friendly policies. He called upon leading French investors to seize opportunities for investment in Bangladesh.
The French Ambassador was accompanied by Florent Mangin, head of the Regional Economic Department of the French Embassy.
