DHAKA, June 10, 2026 (BSS) - Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) today forecasted rain in different parts of the country in next 24 hours commencing from 9 am. 

"Light to moderate rain/thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind and lightning flashes is likely to occur at many places over Rangpur, Mymensingh, Chattogram & Sylhet divisions and at a few places over Rajshahi, Dhaka, Khulna & Barishal divisions," said a Met office bulletin issued this morning.
Besides, it said moderately heavy to heavy falls may occur at places over the country.

Southwest monsoon has advanced up to Barishal, Chattogram, Sylhet, Mymensingh and Rangpur divisions.

Conditions are favourable for further advancement of the Southwest monsoon to set on remaining parts of Bangladesh during the next 2 to 3 days, the bulletin said.

Day temperature may fall slightly over southern part and it may remain nearly unchanged elsewhere over the country. Night temperature may rise slightly over the country.

The highest temperature on Tuesday was recorded at 37.2 degrees Celsius in Jashore, while today's minimum temperature was 23 degrees Celsius in Ramgati under Chattogram division. 

The sun sets at 6.46 pm today and rises at 5.10 am tomorrow in Dhaka.
