GAZIPUR, June 8, 2026 (BSS) - The formal distribution programme of breeder seeds produced by the Bangladesh Rice Research Institute for the upcoming Aman season was inaugurated today.

The programme was launched by the institute's Genetic Resources and Seed (GRS) Division.

BRRI Research Director Dr. Md. Rafiqul Islam and Director (Administration and General Services) Dr. Aminul Islam jointly inaugurated the event at a function held at the BRRI auditorium, with Chief Scientific Officer and Head of the GRS Division Dr. Mir Sharaf Uddin Ahmed in the chair.

According to the GRS Division, a total of 97 tonnes of breeder seeds will be distributed among 465 government and private seed dealers across the country, including the Bangladesh Agricultural Development Corporation, for the Aman-2026 season.
