JAHANGIRNAGAR UNIVERSITY, June 6, 2026 (BSS) - Jahangirnagar University (JU) today got two new Pro Vice-Chancellors following appointments approved by President and Chancellor of the university Mohammed Shahabuddin.

Professor Dr Md Shamsul Alam of the Government and Politics Department and Professor Dr Mohammad Nazrul Islam of the Mathematics Department have been appointed as Pro Vice-Chancellor (Academic) and Pro Vice-Chancellor (Admin) respectively.

The Ministry of Education issued separate notifications in this regard today.

According to the notifications, the appointments were made under Section 13(1) of the Jahangirnagar University Act, 1973. The two professors will serve in their respective positions for a four-year term.
