DHAKA, June 3, 2026 (BSS) - Housing and Public Works Minister Zakaria Taher 
today directed the authorities concerned to take immediate steps to improve 
cleanliness and enhance the overall beauty of Ramna Park following a surprise 
visit to the park.

During the visit, the minister inspected the park's roads, walkways, lake and 
wash blocks and reviewed the overall environment, cleanliness and management 
of the park and inquired about its maintenance and facilities.

Upon inspecting, the minister instructed the concerned divisions of the 
Public Works Department to take immediate measures to improve the cleanliness 
of Ramna Park, develop and maintain the lake, install necessary street 
lighting and enhance the park's overall beautification.

Additional Secretary Md. Sarwar Alam, Public Works Department Chief Engineer 
Md. Khalekuzzaman Chowdhury, Deputy Secretary Mohammad Sher Mahbub Murad, and 
Public Works Department Executive Engineer Md. Abul Kalam Azad were present 
during the visit.
