DHAKA, June 1, 2026 (BSS) - Health and Family Welfare Minister Sardar Md. 
Shakhawat Hossain today visited the National Institute of Cardiovascular 
Diseases (NICVD) in the capital to see Abdul Hannan Mollah, father of child 
Ramisa, who was a victim of brutal torture and killing, as he is currently 
suffering from health complications. 

Following the directives of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, the minister 
visited the hospital at Sher-e-Bangla Nagar in the evening.

Abdul Hannan Mollah is currently under observation at the Coronary Care Unit 
(CCU) under the supervision of Prof Dr Toufique Rahman Faruk with suspected 
heart-related complications.

Upon receiving news of his hospitalisation, the health minister went to see 
him and spoke with him and his family members. He also took detailed 
information from the attending physicians regarding his current condition.

During the visit, the minister directed concerned authorities to ensure the 
highest standard of medical treatment for Ramisa's father.
