DHAKA, May 27, 2026 (BSS) - State Minister for Information and Broadcasting Yasser Khan Choudhury today distributed cash assistance, corrugated sheets and dry food among the affected families in recent devastating storm in Nandail upazila.
The state minister visited the storm-hit Hatshira area under Kharua union of the upazila to inspect the damage.
During the visit, he inquired about the condition of the affected families and exchanged greetings with them.
At the time, he handed over humanitarian assistance, including cash, corrugated sheets and dry food to the affected people.
He also extended advance Eid greetings with the locals present there.
While distributing relief materials the State Minister said Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has taken various groundbreaking measures to alleviate public sufferings. The government is implementing different welfare initiatives, including Family Cards and Farmers’ Cards for the wellbeing of the people.
He said the BNP government has always stood beside people in any disasters and crises and would continue to do so in future.
Nandail Upazila BNP Senior Joint Convener Mizanur Rahman Liton, Member Secretary Enamul Qadir, Kharua Union BNP leader Oliullah Oli and local party leaders were present at the event.
