KISHOREGANJ, May 27, 2026 (BSS) – Health Minister Sardar Md. Sakhawat Husain today paid a surprise visit to Pakundia Upazila Health Complex in Kishoreganj to observe healthcare services at the grassroots level.
The minister inspected the emergency department, male and female wards and the hospital kitchen.
He also spoke to admitted patients and inquired about the quality of treatment and food being served at the hospital.
Later briefing journalists, the minister said the government is conducting unannounced visits under the Prime Minister’s directive to assess the real situation of healthcare services and the behaviour of doctors and staff at the root level.
He said everyone concerned must work together to improve service quality and restore discipline in hospitals.
The minister also said the government is continuing measles vaccination campaigns across the country and efforts are underway to bring all children under vaccine coverage.
Replying to a question, he warned of immediate action against any hospital staff found misbehaving with patients and said steps are being taken to ensure doctors’ security, including deployment of law enforcement personnel at hospitals.
