DHAKA, May 27, 2026 (BSS) – President Mohammed Shahabuddin will offer Eid-ul-Azha prayers along with hundreds of devotees from all walks of life at the National Eidgah adjacent to the High Court premises here tomorrow morning.
Prime Minister Tarique Rahman is also scheduled to offer prayers with the main Eid congregation at 7:30 am here.
“The main Eid jamaat will be held at the National Eidgah ground at 7:30 am on Eid day. The head of the state will offer prayers there and join the munajat,” the President’s Press Wing said today.
The Chief Justice of Bangladesh, cabinet members, judges of the Supreme Court, lawmakers, senior political leaders, diplomats, and high-ranking civil and military officials, among other distinguished personalities, are also expected to offer their prayers in the National Eidgah.
An official of the Islamic Foundation said Khatib of Baitul Mukarram National Mosque Mufti Muhammad Abdul Malek will conduct the Eid prayers.
A special munajat seeking divine blessings for peace, progress, and prosperity of Bangladesh, as well as the welfare of its people and the Muslim Ummah, will be offered after the prayers.
After the prayers at the Eidgah, the President will exchange Eid greetings with the cross section of people there.
The Eid congregation will be held under the supervision of Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC). Special arrangements have also been made for women devotees at the National Eidgah.
Meanwhile, an intensified security measure has been taken in and around the Eidgah premises.
Earlier, DSCC Administrator Valiant Freedom Fighter Md Abdus Salam said if any inclement weather prevails on Eid day, the main jamaat will be shifted to Baitul Mukarram National Mosque at 8:00 am.
According to programme schedule of the President at the National Eidgah, the President will be welcomed by the Chief Justice, cabinet members, DSCC administrator, DSCC chief executive officer, divisional commissioner, Supreme Court’s registrar general and IFB director general.
