MYMENSINGH, May 26, 2026 (BSS)- State Minister for Information and Broadcasting Yasser Khan Choudhury has urged everyone to dispose wastes of sacrificial animals at the designated locations during the holy Eid-ul-Azha to avert environment pollution.
He made the call while speaking as the chief guest at a ceremony organized by the Mymensingh City Corporation at Town Hall here.
He distributed Eid gift items among 4,737 underprivileged families ahead of the holy Eid.
Yasser said the nationwide canal excavation programme has significantly reduced waterlogging. In the past, in the past it was a common phenomenon the roads of Dhaka and Mymensingh suffer severe water logging during heavy downpour. But due to the planned development of the present government, around 60 percent of those roads now suffer no water logging.
Highlighting the government’s development initiatives within a very short period of time after assuming office, the state minister expressed hoped that the Family Card and Farmer’s Card programmes will significantly benefit the people and change their living standard.
Mymensingh city administrator Rukunuzzaman Rokon chaired the programme while other local government officials were present.
