DHAKA, May 18, 2026 (BSS) - Land Minister Md. Mizanur Rahman Minu, MP today said Prime Minister Tarique Rahman will inaugurate the “Land Service Fair-2026” tomorrow at Bhumi Bhaban in the capital’s Tejgaon area.
Speaking at a press conference at the conference room of the Ministry of Land, the minister said the land fairs will begin in every district and upazila across the country following the inauguration by the prime minister in Dhaka. The three-day “Land Service Fair-2026” will begin nationwide on May 19 and continue till May 21.
State Minister for Land Mir Mohammed Helal Uddin, Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Land A S M Saleh Ahmed, and Additional Secretaries Md Emdadul Haque Chowdhury and Nasrin Jahan, among others, were present at the press conference.
The land minister said the main theme of this year’s fair is “Citizen-friendly automated land management, secure land and prosperous future”.
He said land services have now become much easier and citizen-friendly through the automation process. “The main objective of the fair is to introduce citizens to these new services and provide services directly,” he added.
The minister said the main purpose of organising the fair is to simplify land services, raise public awareness about digital platforms and citizen services, and ensure services reach the grassroots level.
Under the initiative of the Ministry of Land, people will get direct ideas about different land services through the fair and some services will be provided instantly from the fair venue.
Citizens at the fair will receive direct information about registration on the land portal, e-mutation applications, online payment of land development tax, collection of khatian and DCR, collection of mouza maps and other services.
Besides, some services including acceptance of e-mutation applications, distribution of certified copies of khatian and payment of land development tax will be available at the fair venue.
The press conference was informed that extensive publicity would be carried out regarding the national hotline 16122 and divisional hotline 01706888787 for complaints related to land services.
In addition, an informative booklet titled “Bhumi Amar Thikana” will be distributed so that common people can learn about land services in simple language.
The Ministry of Land is planning to introduce digital surveys, land zoning and issuance of ownership certificates immediately after land purchase under government initiatives. At the same time, initiatives have been taken to launch unified digital registration and e-mutation through coordination between upazila land offices and sub-registry offices.
Extensive publicity is being carried out through print and electronic media, social media, educational institutions and religious places of worship to make the fair successful.
The fair will be held in a festive atmosphere at every district and upazila level.
After inaugurating the fair, the prime minister will inaugurate stalls at Bhumi Bhaban and visit different service centres. During the visit, he will also inspect the call centre, citizen service centre and daycare centre.
Besides, initiatives have been taken to reduce human touch through automation in order to make land services provided by government officials more citizen-friendly.
Under the fair, various services including mutation, LD tax and khatian have been automated. During the fair, service seekers will be able to apply for e-mutation, pay land development tax and collect certified copies of khatian and mouza.
Compensation for land acquisition will also be provided directly from the fair.
One of the special features of the fair is to provide land-related advice to citizens. Citizens facing problems regarding their land or property will be given advice at the stalls of the fair.
Besides, direct services will be provided at district administration stalls, upazila land offices, union land offices and land service assistance centres.
Ministers, advisers, secretaries and senior officials will be present at the central event. Through the fair, the distance between the government and citizens will be reduced and confidence in land services will be increased.
