DHAKA, May 14, 2026 (BSS) - Housing and Public Works Minister Zakaria Taher today directed officials of the National Housing Authority (NHA) to ensure
that no harassment occurs in providing services to common people.

The minister made the remarks at an exchange of views meeting held at the conference room of the National Housing Authority at Segunbagicha in the
capital today.

He said the activities and land management system of the National Housing Authority would be digitised.

The ministry would provide all-out support in implementing any good initiative undertaken by the authority.

Addressing the officials, the minister further said excessive greed for money is eroding morality, humanity and social values in society. He stressed the
need for self-criticism, self-purification and the practice of honesty to leave behind a better future for the next generation.

State Minister for Housing and Public Works Ahammad Sohel Monzoor said the National Housing Authority is an important service-oriented institution directly involved in fulfilling the housing dreams of common people.

"A person spends lifetime savings to purchase a flat or plot", he said, adding that it is therefore very important to ensure easy, speedy and
harassment-free services, including transfer of ownership and related services.
