DHAKA, May 11, 2026 (BSS) - Religious Affairs Minister Kazi Shah Mofazzal
Houssain (Kaikobad) today called upon all to remain vigilant to maintain the
continuity of democracy in the country.

"The government is doing very good work and many people cannot tolerate this.
You must keep your eyes and ears open and identify those who want to strangle
democracy," he said.

He made the call while speaking as the chief guest at a BSRF Dialogue
organised by the Bangladesh Secretariat Reporters Forum (BSRF) at the media
centre of the Secretariat this afternoon.

Responding to the media queries, he said the government has already
introduced agriculture cards for farmers, family cards for poor women and
waived agricultural loans up to Taka 10,000, including interest.

"No government since the country's independence had accomplished so much
within such a short period after assuming office," he said.

Mentioning the low participation of women in journalism, the minister assured
overall support for female journalists and welcomed constructive criticism
from journalists.

He also urged journalists to play a vocal role against drug lords and ensure
that no innocent becomes a victim of oppression.
