DHAKA, May 6, 2026 (BSS) - A high-level delegation from Anhui Normal University, China led by its President Xiong Yujie, today met with Education Minister Dr. A.N.M. Ehsanul Hoque Milon at the latter's office at the secretariat here.

During the meeting, the Minister highlighted that several institutions, including Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), have secured prestigious positions in global university rankings, and expressed the government's ambition to elevate this standing further. 

He stressed that the government is currently prioritizing Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET), noting that there is significant scope for cooperation with China in this sector.

President Xiong Yujie remarked that Anhui Normal University is a premier institution specialized in the professional training of educators. 

He expressed a strong interest in collaborating with Bangladesh to enhance the quality of education and provide professional development for teachers. The Chinese delegation further assured their commitment to working together in the future to improve educational standards.

Education Secretary Abdul Khalek, Technical and Madrasah Education Division Secretary Md. Daud Mia, and other senior officials of the ministry were present during the meeting.
