DHAKA, May 4, 2026 (BSS) - The Ministry of Religious Affairs has instructed the concerned airlines to refund airfare to Hajj pilgrims who are unable to board their scheduled flights due to valid reasons such as accidents or illness.
This directive was issued through a letter on Thursday sent to officials concerned of Biman Bangladesh Airlines, Saudia Airlines and Flynas Airlines which are operating hajj flights.
A total of 78,500 people from Bangladesh have been allowed to perform Hajj this year.
Since the start of Hajj flights on April 18, over 45,000 pilgrims have already arrived in Saudi Arabia.
Due to illness, failure to board scheduled flights, and other reasons, some pilgrims have missed their flights this year as well. This special directive has been issued in this regard.
