NOAKHALI, April 2, 2026 (BSS) - BNP Vice Chairman and Noakhali-3 Parliament Member Md Barkat Ullah Bulu today said individuals who deny the Liberation War have no right to engage in politics in Bangladesh.
He said those who reject the sacrifices of three million martyrs of the 1971 Liberation War and deny the violation of two hundred thousand women's honour are betraying the nation.
Bulu made the remarks while speaking at the inauguration ceremony of the Noakhali Industry and Trade Fair held at Maijdi Housing Balu Field this afternoon.
"Those who deny the Liberation War betray the blood of three million martyrs. Those who deny the honour of our mothers and sisters also betray them," he said.
Referring to the 13th parliamentary elections, he said, "Those who misled poor women by promising 'tickets to Paradise' in exchange for votes have distorted religious beliefs."
Bulu added that no one has the authority to guarantee entry into Paradise, stressing that such assurances are against Islamic teachings.
"Even the Prophet of Allah did not guarantee Paradise to anyone. It depends on Allah's will and a person's conduct, worship and service to humanity," he said.
He further alleged that those who used religion to influence votes have deviated from the true path of Islam and corrupted faith.
