DHAKA, April 2, 2026 (BSS) - State Minister for Land Barrister Mir Mohammed Helal Uddin today stressed the need for strong institutional measures to eliminate corruption in land administration, warning that offenders must face appropriate legal action.

He said corruption in land management would not be tolerated and called on all stakeholders to work together to implement the government's zero-tolerance policy.

The state minister made the remarks at the closing ceremony and certificate distribution of an Advanced Land Management Course held at the Land Administration Training Centre (LATC) auditorium in Katabon.

Additional District Commissioners (ADCs) and Upazila Nirbahi Officers (UNOs) who took part in the training were present at the event.

Addressing the participants, Mir Helal issued a series of directives to field-level officials to ensure efficient, transparent and citizen-friendly land services.

He instructed officials to avoid unnecessary delays in service delivery and urged them to make services more accessible and user-friendly instead of strictly adhering to routine procedures.

On legal compliance, he said there should be no compromise, adding that no individual has the authority to act outside the law.

The state minister also cautioned the public against relying on unverified external operators offering land-related services, particularly those using laptops at photocopy shops.

Highlighting ongoing reforms, he said land management in the country has become increasingly automated and digitized.

Director of LATC Mohammad Abul Khayer, also a Joint Secretary, chaired the programme.

Senior Secretary of the Land Ministry A.S.M. Saleh Ahmed and Director General (Grade-1) of the Department of Land Records and Surveys Dr Md Mahmud Hasan attended as special guests.

Course Director Khan A. Sabur Khan delivered the welcome address.

A total of 38 Additional District Commissioners and 36 Upazila Nirbahi Officers took part in the five-day course.

At the end of the programme, the state minister distributed crests and certificates among outstanding trainees.
